As New Year’s Eve invites reflection, 2025 stands out as a landmark year for In Gold We Trust (IGWT). Month by month, our publications and original content documented, and often anticipated, the unfolding of one of the most powerful precious metals bull runs in decades. Here is a chronological review of the ideas, releases, and milestones that shaped the year.
2025 began internationally. Ronnie Stoeferle attended the Future Minerals Forum in Saudi Arabia, where he recorded an interview for Kitco NEWS. The conversation set the tone for the year: gold, geopolitics, and the accelerating reordering of the global monetary system were already firmly in focus.
In February, Ronnie published an extensive X thread analyzing Stephen Miran’s “A User’s Guide to Restructuring the Global Trading System.” This was the piece that introduced the concept of the “Mar-a-Lago Accord,” an idea that would later be expanded and formally incorporated into the In Gold We Trust report 2025.
The month also marked an important expansion milestone: the announcement that the IGWT report would be published in Japanese, reflecting growing interest from Asia.
March brought a strategic leap forward. In Gold We Trust formally partnered with Mining Visuals, acquiring a 25% stake in the company. This investment elevated IGWT’s charts, infographics, and visual benchmarks. Needless to say, these pose an increasingly vital element in communicating complex macro themes clearly and effectively.
Furthermore, Ronnie delivered his last Keynote for this conference season at the ZukunftsForum Edelmetalle event in Frankfurt. This event took place from March 23 to 25.
April was defined by volatility. As financial markets reacted to Liberation Day tariffs announced by the Trump administration amid the US–China Trade War, IGWT hosted a high-level macro and finance debate on April 7. Featuring Luke Gromen and Louis-Vincent Gave, the discussion — recorded as part of the IGWT 2025 report — addressed trade restructuring, de-dollarization, and systemic risk at a moment of acute market stress.
On May 15, The Big Long was officially released. Later in the month, Ronnie began an intensive round of media interviews, explaining the report’s core findings and why gold, silver, and mining stocks were entering a decisive phase of the Golden Decade.
Starting on June 3, the IGWT 2025 Nuggets — individual report chapters — were released online. Later in June, the English and German print editions became available for purchase.
Moreover, the production, in partnership with Mining Visuals, of the Porsche/Gold Ratio, marked the latest addition to the Gold Ratios series, which perfectly illustrates the long term effect of inflation and how gold preserves the purchasing power of its holders.
This month also marked the start of regular LinkedIn articles, where IGWT addressed timely macro and precious-metals topics in long-form, professional commentary.
By July, markets validated the thesis. Silver and mining stocks surged ahead of gold, confirming the idea of “performance gold” outlined in The Big Long. Content increasingly focused on this second, more explosive phase of the bull market.
August saw the launch of the Sound Money Report, IGWT’s Substack publication. Designed to complement the annual report, it delivered timely commentary rooted in Austrian economics, bridging the gap between deep annual research and fast-moving market realities.
September blended analysis and presence. This month marked the beginning of Ronnie Stoeferle’s conference tour. At the Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek and the Mining Forum Americas in Colorado Springs, he presented “The Big Long: Performance Gold’s Hautacam Moment”, a metaphor-rich keynote explaining why silver and miners were now accelerating ahead of gold.
Meanwhile, iconic benchmarks like the Gold/Oktoberfest Beer Ratio and iPhone/Gold Ratio were updated, while the newly-introduced Weekly Nuggets further distilled insights into a regular, accessible format.
In October, the IGWT Report website was restructured, introducing the IGWT Journal. This formed a central hub for original articles, interviews, and podcast appearances. Later on, the publication of Chartbook 2025 visually anchored gold and silver’s ascendence within IGWT’s long-term framework.
On October 10, the Incrementum Active Aurum Signal shifted from Offensive to Neutral. This was not a sell signal, but a reminder that even the strongest bull markets need pauses to consolidate.
By mid-November, IGWT launched the Weekly Precious Metals Recap, offering concise summaries of gold, silver, and mining-stock performance. This new format quickly became a staple for readers seeking clarity amid fast-moving markets.
Moreover, this month underscored IGWT’s global reach with the release of the Mandarin edition of the 2025 report. Besides that, conference keynotes across Europe and continued media engagement ensured that The Big Long resonated well through the traditional gold circles and beyond.
December blended insight with celebration. We continued publishing articles on prescient themes such as the Trade War and the race for the next Federal Reserve Chairman, while producing Reels and YouTube Shorts from Ronnie’s keynote speeches.
Seasonal content closed the year on a festive note, as Santa Claus delivered goldbugs and silver stackers a remarkable holiday season, with precious metals’ prices soaring into year-end.
From the start of the year to today, returns have been nothing short of historic—both at current levels and at last week’s peak:
Gold: +65% ( +73% at peak)
Silver: +148% ( +190% at peak)
GDX: +151% ( +166%)
SIL: +163% ( +180%)
GDXJ: +165% ( +180%)
SILJ: +177% ( +198%)
In addition to being a year of strong performance, 2025 was a year where foresight, research, and conviction aligned with reality. As we step into 2026, the Golden Decade is no longer a forecast, but a settled and inescapable reality.
